Introducing Hive Huddles
Small-group, topic-based nonprofit conversations are a new offering of this community. No webinar, no panel, no performance. Just a thoughtful room of peers.

The Hive is evolving
Sometimes the conversation needs more than two people.
Sometimes you want to hear how others are navigating the same challenge.
Sometimes you want to compare notes across organizations, roles, and communities.
Sometimes you just need a small room with people who get it.
That’s why we’re introducing Hive Huddles.
What is a Hive Huddle?
A small group conversation built around a shared topic.
Choose a topic that matters to your work. We’ll cultivate a small group of nonprofit and social impact peers, send a few prompts ahead of time, and introduce you before you meet.
- No preparation.
- No expertise required.
- No perfect answers expected.
Come ready to share, listen, and explore the topic together.
The rhythm
How Hive Huddles work.
Choose your topic
When Hive Huddles are open, you’ll be invited to select the topic that feels most relevant to you. It might be something you’re working through, curious about, or want to hear other nonprofit folks discuss.
We cultivate your group
Once sign-ups close, we create small groups based on the topics people selected. Our goal is to bring together people who can have a useful, generous, and relevant conversation.
Receive your introduction
Before your Huddle, you’ll receive an email introducing you to your small group, along with the topic, time, video link, and a few conversation prompts to guide the discussion.
Join the conversation
At your scheduled time, join your small group through our video platform. Huddles are meant to feel conversational, not formal. Share what you’re seeing, ask questions, and learn from others.
Share your feedback
After your Huddle, we’ll ask for a few quick notes on how it went. Your feedback helps us improve the format, understand what topics matter most, and share useful themes back with the wider Hive community.

What could a Huddle be about?
Real questions from the sector.
Huddle topics are shaped by what’s actually alive in nonprofit and social impact work right now. A few examples of the kinds of conversations we can hold:
Fundraising in a hard year
Trading tactics on donor fatigue, diversifying revenue, and being honest about what’s actually working.
Small teams, big ambitions
How lean nonprofits stretch capacity without burning out the humans doing the work.
AI in the social sector
What’s genuinely useful, what’s hype, and where the ethical lines sit for mission-driven teams.
Building better partnerships
Across countries, funders, and communities — where collaboration works and where it gets messy.
Storytelling with dignity
Sharing impact without flattening the people at the heart of the work.
Leading through change
Restructures, new strategies, funding shifts — how leaders and teams hold steady together.
Illustrative only — actual Huddle topics are curated with our community each round.
What to expect
Human, useful, and a little imperfect.
That’s the point.
